Debuting with a line of women's wear in 1978, the company was an instant success. Sent me a package with trash/household items and claimed the one I sent was empty. ill pull it out and have another go on skin and now in a different season. For me, its a solid like and I am glad to have it in my collection. Performance from my 2020 bottle is very good, much better than I expected because it is still fairly cheap, To my eyes, the bottle is classy too. try to smell it before purchase if possible but you could blind buy and im fairly certain you wont regret it. Flores brancas, folha de tabaco, doce, limpo. It's also quite generic despite the description. The only problem is thats very weak. It smells similar to Le Male, but slightly less sweet and a touch more sophisticated, thanks to the heavy iris note. Like a weird guy and it just wasn't him.
Gianni Versace chose the Medusa symbol as his company's logo. Strangely piercing at first and then gentle. I did not try the perfume in its old form, which was produced in 1996, and I do not know how it smelled, the perfume I owned is after the reformulation in 2010. Its a beautiful masculine floral scent. I got this 100ml bottle looking so forward to the iris that I love in perfumes. Over a decade Id spray this reformulated version on my pillow, doesnt last long on me. Its honestly not the strongest thing ive ever smelled but its decent. So thats whats probably most important. Place a juniper cutting and a tobacco flower on top of a bar of dry lavender soap and I think you would have The Dreamer. on buying this fragrance. To me this smells like an elderly person losing at a casino. I have the newer formulation (batch 92772P from 10/2019) although I find many similarities with the notes breakdown of the older one, primarily in the lavender and the tobacco. First review for me. Very artistic scent for confident men. Sigh. I hadn't experienced anything like that. It's also stupid cheap. The Dreamer EDT by Versace Lot# 00243E (which means it was made in January of 2020). Smells kinda like something out of prada luna rossa line but cheap. The Dreamer smells like Versace L'Homme dry down . To me this has been a compliment getter over the years, maybe because it is my signature scent this was the fragrance that got me into this wonderful fragrance collecting journey. I pick up the tobacco right away, but in the drydown it's still there. Its not bad but i wouldnt brag about it or go out and purchase it. Great opening. Lasts about 7-9 hours on my skin, and it's a newer formulation with the clear juice. My husband said it smells weird. To me it's heaven. I won't lie it will not be everyone's cup of tea, but this a solid frag, especially for the price you can get it at from discounters. Great projection, great longivety, great character, excellent sillage.

So powdery and floral this can pass for a unisex fragrance, the tobacco leaf note or something else curbs it from being a womens frag. Pickle fruits smell stay very long then comes damped tobacco in the back. The last of the most prominent notes are the amber, a dry, resinous, powdery, slightly sweet note. Nice spring day so I decided to dig this one out for today's sotd. I don't get any tobacco and don't know what tobacco blossom smells like - maybe this? It was a Gramma Scent.

This morning for example, I put on 6 sprays at 7am. Celebrities who have at one time been the face of Versace include Madonna, Ashton Kutcher, Britney Spears and Halle Berry. Sadly, this fragrance smells very unisex to me, verging on feminine.
Sweet and fresh is how I would describe it. Obviously, men can comfortably wear it. This fragrance has a special meaning to me.
You know the feeling when you are calmly falling asleep and enter into a dream, well if that feeling had a fragrance, Versace The Dreamer would be that fragrance. Opening with fresh from something maybe come from juniper and lily and feel romantic floral vibe at dry down. I would wear this only during colder days or spring time. I usually don't like white florals and I'm not a huge fan of iris as I find them chalky and powdery, but there are a few notes in here that take that chalkiness and almost cools it so it smells like a dry mint. I use this as a bedtime scent ( I know a fitting, right?) This grew on me.

Will try it again, to see if it was a weird bottle but to then I'm glad it doesn't project strong. It reminds me of a long-lost friend from the 90s that randomly shows up in your memories. It's very pleasant,unique and the tobacco flower is very noticeable. And I instinctively fell in love with it. Its quite sweet to my nose and reminds me of JPG Le Male, and yet it is very unisex due to it containing quite prominent floral notes. It's nice and lightly floral but masculine enough to not be overly feminine. I have no idea why this new formulation and change of distributor needed an entirely new entry. The opening is unique, mature, elegant, and pleasant. It's on the thin line between a fluffy, heady flower garden fragrance and an hyper generic car-freshener.
Hell, even Versace's own L'Homme has the same history as Dreamer. Almost immediately the tobacco flower and iris take over the fragrance creating a mature, dark, floral, and powdery scent, very unique. It has taken me a year to fully appreciate this subtle, reasonably priced winner. Really really harsh. I'm sure what he's saying is interesting, profound evenif only I could hear him.
Why o'why did the house of Versace stop making this wonderful fragrance to begin with? I had heard that it was a very "different" and "unique" scent, a scent I had hoped that I could get on board with. Clean scent. No tobacco, no floral, just plain ivory soap, and kind of gross. It's a delicate fragrance that is inoffensive and has enough about it to take it above your regular run of the mill bargain scents. The price is super cheap and while its a bit dated its still worth a purchase. If you haven't heard or sampled this one yet, please do. I can't say it's bad, but its not something I wear out very often. I don't hate it but I cant see why it has such a good reputation. To my nose it smells like Honeysuckle with iris. The more I learn about perfumery, the more I appreciate the Dreamer. The longevity is pretty good, the middle notes and especially the base notes last at least 4 hours. Fragrances for men and women are offered under the Versace, Versus, Jeans and Jeans Couture labels. It became one of my "I must re-buy" perfumes as soon as the bottle gets half empty. Buy it, it's a masterpiece! I love it. or that lady who is smoking and playing bingo at the same time dabbing and choking from all the smoke all the while complaining about the smoke with that raspy voice dropping F bombs left and right?! Ive been eyeing this fragrance for almost 2 years and when I finally bought it I was so surprised and perplexed by how it smelled. I tried it on several times, tried to like it. Smells pretty neat. I believe all those whom said they love it, but I did not, even though I wanted to. It's not the best compliment getter fragrance I think, but it doesn't have to be.
Powdery , soap (imperial leather) with sweet tobacco vibes with plenty of longevity after application. Tobacco comes out in the dry down. I'll definitely buy another bottle once I finish with it since this fragrance is so my style. I really feel like I wear this one just to examine it from time to time and enjoy a few of the notes.

This is the kind of fragrance that you smell once on an of chance, and it immediately ingrains itself into your sense of smell, it will make you seek out the smell for your self. However, after speaking to some friends I have gotten decent feedback. As another reviewer said, smells somehow similar to rice pudding if that helps. I just bought it. A blind buy after I read reviews and heard a lot about this fragrance. It's a nice fragrance, Herbal, Floral and Green. The initial blast is my favorite part I just love it.

Almost a bit lavender but not, powdery but not clean, musky, musty, a bit sweet, almost slightly woody but not quite wood floral maybe yes, but not your typical floral. A very strange scent. It just hits you until it wins you over. i would like to be able to have an opinion on this, or is this site only for over hyping crap. Needless to say that it is on my TOP 10 all time favourite perfumes list. "The Dreamer" spawned more flankers than I can count. You are not going to smell like everyone else, and sometimes that is the point. I like this one, it opened the door to fragrance world for me. I wanted to like this but the tobacco is soapy synthetic and screeching. It smells like how the 90s imagined the future to smell like; a world with possibilities around the corner. Has a slightly earthy opening smell when first applied but after dry-down it has a super smooth vanilla appeal with a hint of floral. I didnt own it when it was launched, but it smells familiar. I will echo some of the other reviews on here with that this scent is a very familiar, inviting, and comforting scent.
I absolutely loved it years ago and then I didn't smell it for years. I am a fan of unisex fragrances, so i wasn't deterred that this is a mens fragrance, however I did end up giving this to my boyfriend because for me the tobacco note is too overpowering on a woman like me. It does live up to its name as there is something dreamy or ethereal about it. When I got home I started to become very nauseous and scrubbed it off my arm thinking it was the fragrance making me feel ill. The name of it The dreamer just takes you to a solo journey into your memories and to what is possible. Not mint like toothpaste though, more like the flavor of the natural mint leaf. Why brands do This to their classics? When I was a kid, there was a tobacco factory in my city. I literally spray it randomly just to get that opening. Versace Dreamer reflects that smell perfectly. I thought I smelled a bit like my grandma when she has just put on moisturizer and was smoking. There is just something special about the dreamer, dare I say dreamy, this perfume is to die for, big hit of floral, soap and I can barely detect tobacco. Just like burberry touch for men, versace dreamer offers unique wearing experience and it beats easily all modern blue fragrances. So I decided to try something else. Best worn in late summer and early fall.

The fragrance feels casual, classy, dated, dense, dry, earthy, elegant, exotic, white floral, green, herbaceous, masculine, mature, musky, nocturnal, old-school, powdery, resinous, rare, warm, and pleasant. I don't wear this for anyone but myself to enjoy and I think that's why its so special also it takes me back to my mid teens so it gives me that hopeful spark. But it is very warming and inviting to lay in that scent lol. No not a blind buy and for me not a keeper, With its clear glass, frosted Medusa head and gold/silver accents, The Dreamer fits in by appearance with it's other 90's counterparts-. she was a smoker and she is covering the smell with potpourri. That fades away pretty quick and the aftermath is beautiful. In one of CubaKnow's, Oh my god the tobacco in this fragrance is SO strong too strong for me. Soapy. I found it radiates to about 6 inches from you but nothing insane. Time will only tell.

It is amazing and so powerful of a scent in its opening and develops so well. Blind bought this once I saw how cheap it was on amazon.

The amber should hit harder as it is masculine as a note, but in this case the amber has a sweet accord. this is discontinued again? But mature women are gonna love this. The opening is very brief, during this window the juniper, tarragon, and artemisia come across with a piney, green, spicy, herbal, and woody accord that gives the fragrance a unique character. A bit of a strange one this, but in a good way. But its not just airy and floral - I actually get some earthy and mossy notes. It haunted me, until one day I noticed I hadn't crossed paths with the ghost in a very long time. This new formulation works fine on me just like the original which I've owned, a daily driver back in the day. Definitely an acquired taste.
