We do not have tailgate assist for an El Camino. At this time there is not a part number for the T100. What normally happens as the tailgate assist is working on the passenger side it will try to lift the tailgate out of the slot as you would remove the tailgate.

When the tailgate is lowered the hinge where the tailgate has the ability to be removed will catch and the tailgate will get bound up and not continue down.
